By Kellie Tripp
I started collecting 30's McCoy in 1994. I like the way the glaze blends and how smooth the finish is. Its imperfect ( McFlaws ), yet beautiful. The post-depression US was glad to buy pretty, functional items that today exemplify the romantic cottage style of decorating. This pottery symbolizes the relaxed, happy lifestyle many people enjoyed then. ( I feel like I'm writing a term paper!) The first piece of Mccoy I got was found in my Aunt Florence's basement. My mom and I set out every weekend in search of more styles I didn't have. That time we spent together is now a treasured memory. And that's when we decided to become dealers!
Kellie has two spaces inside Country Roads. Her newer space can be found just under the stairs in our main building. She is also located in the 3rd building (aka The Mercantile) near the front window. If you can't find her just ask where Space 01 is, and we will be happy to point you in the right direction. Kellie has quite a bit of pottery for sale in her booths, some even come from her own personal collection!
